J’ai débuté la céramique à l’âge de 11 ans avec Marguerite Maloney-Sanchez, dans une petite école d’art de Jonquière, au Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. Dix ans plus tard, je suis déménagée à Montréal et j’ai gravité autour de plusieurs ateliers avant de fonder Atelier Bernard à l’automne 2016. Je préconise une approche très technique de la céramique avec une préférence marquée pour le tour et les grandes pièces. Ayant remarqué un manque de disponibilités d’ateliers libres à Montréal, j’offre également la location ponctuelle et des formations pour les céramistes intermédiaires dans l’atelier adjacent au mien Le Cylindre.

I began throwing on the wheel at the age of 11 under the tutelage of Marguerite Maloney-Sanchez in a small arts school in Jonquière, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. When I moved to Montreal ten years later, I first gravitated around several studios before finally opening my own, Atelier Bernard, in 2016. In my work, I favor a very technical approach to ceramics with a marked preference for the wheel and large pieces. Given the significant lack of working spaces for ceramists in the city of Montreal, I also offer rental and training for intermediate ceramists in Le Cylindre, the studio adjacent to mine.
